Open-ended play and structured activities for children of all ages at Scallywags.
We provide open-ended play equipment and encourage risk-taking so children can learn about the world around them while making their own decisions about their safety.
During music play time, children learn to understand and enjoy the language of music through singing, listening, playing percussion instruments and musical games. Each child has a kit of 5 instruments and a glockenspiel, and staff receive regular training from our dedicated music teacher.
Staff are trained to plan, implement and provide yoga for all children, including young babies, so they can express themselves and enjoy stretching and physical activity.
Children venture outside throughout the day in one of our two gardens, exploring the natural world. One garden has a sheltered sand pit, rocking horses and a mini obstacle course; the larger garden has a grassy area, gardening area, sand pit and reading nook.
Pre-school children have the opportunity to participate in Spanish lessons on Thursdays during term time, taught by our dedicated Spanish teacher, who teaches core Spanish vocabulary. This is an extra-curricular activity which incurs a small fee.
Pre-school and Sunflowers children have the opportunity to take part in football sessions provided by Kixx, delivered by our enthusiastic sports coach through imaginative stories to keep the children engaged. This is an extra-curricular activity which incurs a small fee.
